What are the re-entry requirements for returning to Thailand on a 12-month married visa during Covid-19?

On behalf of a friend....

I might have to return to UK for a family bereavement. I have a 12 month married visa.

Does anyone know what are the re-entry requirements? Is it necessary to have the Thailand Covid Pass and what does that entail? πŸ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquired about re-entry requirements for a friend holding a 12-month married visa, especially regarding the need for a Thailand Covid Pass after a family bereavement in the UK. In response, community members clarified that the individual needs a re-entry permit if required and must comply with current Covid-19 entry rules, including having Covid insurance, proof of vaccination, and booking accommodations like Test & Go or AQ quarantine arrangements. They emphasized keeping up-to-date with the evolving regulations while traveling back to Thailand.

Whether you have a multi-entry visa from a thai consulate, or an extension with an re-entry permit from the immigration office the ENTRY REQUIREMENTS to get back IN to thailand are the same

20K USD in covid specific insurance (minimum 30 days)

approved thai pass

booked test&go (if you're vaxxed) or AQ quarantine (if you're not)

No disrespect intended but this is the thai visa advice group not the how can I get back into thailand one πŸ™‚

As Rob said, just applied for my test and go

1) Covid insurance to cover the period you are in Thailand

2) copy of full vaccination if u only want 1 day test and go

3) proof of SHA/ test n go hotel booking

4) passport page details

All need to be uploaded on Thai pass website in jpeg format only.

It’s possible to pay for express service for Covid test once u arrive but still need to book hotel. Typically approved in 2-3 days currently

I'm guessing he has a 12 month extension of stay based on having a Thai spouse in which case he needs to get a re-entry permit and follow the guidelines as per Ellie's post. If he does actually have a 12 month "marriage" visa, it will already be a multi entry allowing 90 days per entry and he can come and go as he pleases, respecting the 90 day max stay, without the re-entry permit but still needs to fullfil the covid entry reqirements.

Here is general information on the re-entry permit.

Under the current rule, you need Thailand pass and insurance to enter Thailand on any type of visa/visa-exempt. Keep watching if any entry requirements change before your friend flies back.
