Hello, a few friends and I are coming to Thailand from the UK on the first week of April(5th)

The plan is to go straight to koh phangan to drop some of our bags off before travelling around the rest of Thailand for a month or two and hopefully travelling around a few other countries.

I have been looking into what’s best visa wise and been getting lots of conflicting answers. Ideally we do not want to have to quarantine (we are all fully vaxxed) but if it is a must then we are happy to do so of course. The two main options I’ve seen is the samui sandbox scheme or a Thailand pass. What would you recommend?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A group of UK travelers planning a trip to Thailand are seeking advice on the best visa options and requirements, considering factors such as quarantine and traveling around Southeast Asia. They are exploring alternatives like the Samui Sandbox scheme and Thailand Pass, while receiving suggestions about visa exemptions, the Single Entry Tourist Visa, and the necessary links for applications.

Think you’re getting confused between thailand pass and visa requirements. If you’re coming in on a UK passport, you can get 30 days visa exempt and extend for an additional one time 30 days when you are in Thailand. The other option is a 60 day tourist visa from the Thai embassy in London which allows you 60 days plus extended one time for 30 days in Thailand. Thailand pass is something totally different but is mandatory also at this point in time.

oh yes I do think I am getting them confused, thank you!

So can I just get a visa upon arrival and extend after 30 days as usual then? And then do the Thailand pass separately before arrival… when doing a test and go scheme, can I fly straight to samui and then do the scheme there? (Sorry it’s so hard to find clear information online)

you can come in on 30 day visa exempt and within those 30 days apply for a 30

day extension at your local thai immigration office for 1900 baht. Please click on the link provided by Robert above to apply for Thailand pass and check requirements.

For a month or two and a few days to drop your bags, I would advice the Single Entry Tourist Visa which will give you 60 days on entry and can be extended once with another 30 days based on tourisme. apply:

Vaccinations, quarantine etc is part of the Thailand pass, choice your plan here
