TLDR : Answer Summary
Traveling to Thailand with Singapore Airlines requires travelers to adhere to specific COVID-19 testing protocols. Singapore Airlines mandates a PCR test conducted within 48 hours before departure, while Thailand allows entry with an RT-PCR test taken within 72 hours. It's crucial for passengers to ensure they obtain the RT-PCR test, as some travelers report previous successful entry with a PCR test but emphasize that it's not guaranteed for future travels. Hence, confirming with the airline is advisable to avoid complications during the journey.

Singapore airline wants PCR test within 48 hr of departure and Thailand wants RT-PCR within 72 hr of entrance. Can we just get RT-PCR only ? Will Singapore airline cause any problems ?

I would never advise risking it, but there are cases when places test using RT-PCR but list only "PCR" on the results. That happened in my case (no reference to RT) and I got in fine just a few days ago.

Again, not recommended, but the real gatekeeper is going to be the gate agent at the port of departure.

There's plenty of cases where they accepted "PCR", but there's no guarantee of future acceptance.

I'm booked with Singapore. Despite Thailand only requiring 72 hours, Singapore wants it within 48 hours even if only transiting through Changi airport
