Hello guys, what happens if i over stayed my 180 days by 2 days?? Will i have to pay a fine, and if yes, where should i go at the airport to pay it?
Also, will i face any problems?
Answer summary
If you overstay your 180 days by 2 days in Thailand, you will face a fine of 500 THB per day, totaling 1,000 THB. Upon leaving the country, you will need to approach an immigration officer at the airport who will refer you to the overstay desk located right after the passport control area. It is important to note that an overstay may flag you for scrutiny during future entries into Thailand.

Do not overstay. Having an overstay stamp in your passport is a red flag upon your next entry. You had a 180 day stamp, organize yourself around that without breaching it.
Anonymous participant Passport check point. If leaving BKK the overstay desk is immediately behind the passport checkpoints. Every time I have left there is always someone paying there.IIRC
Anonymous participant Saw a guy in front of me go there one time. The IO signalled for the guy on the overstay desk to come and he walked the person to the desk and it was all casual and friendly. Before they changed the rules to blacklist in 2016 a guy I know had a 10 year overstay. His disabled son did too who he cared for. He paid the 20k each for them and no other penalty. They are back in Thailand frequently for visits. I have known him decades but he only told me the story a couple of years ago. He said they even tried to not fine the son due to his disability but no way around it.
Yes, you'll be put aside when crossing the border and will have to pay 500THB per day. For a couple of days, it's not that bad but you'll always have that registered in your profile. The more red flags, the higher your chances to be scrutinised. Better to avoid it.
