Hi all, hope all are well. So I was curious, what are the chances of the Thai Government, changing the date of the amnesty. As in randomly deciding to shorten the amnesty. Could something like that happen. Can the Thai Government just reverse the policy? Is there any chance of that at all? I just want to know if I can be caught with my pants down so to speak lol.. Thanks again, stay healthy.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The poster is concerned about the possibility of the Thai Government changing the date of the amnesty, wondering if they could shorten it unexpectedly or reverse the policy. A commenter clarifies that while the Thai government can change policies at any time, the current amnesty allows stays until July 31, 2020, and advises staying updated through the group.

This group doesn’t speculate about the future, and only deal with facts. As of right now (May 12, 2020), the borders to Thailand and the surrounding countries are closed, and there is a visa amnesty that lets a person stay no later then July 31, 2020. The Thai government can implement whatever policy they want. When the policy changes, check this group for the latest information.
