[Getting a 2nd Tourist Visa in Bali]

I got a tourist visa from the Thai Consulate in Denpasar, Bali about 5 months ago.

When I arrived, they asked if I had gotten a visa from them before, I told them I hadn't and they gave me the forms. Everything went smoothly.

I'm now back in Bali and looking to get another Thai tourist visa, but I'm concerned about the rules with this particular consulate since they were so quick to ask that question before.

Has anyone had any experience getting a 2nd visa from here? What are my chances? I tried calling them today but the number listed is no longer active.

Any advice is much appreciated, thanks!

My most recent Bali SETV was a few months ago, and it was probably my 4th or 5th SETV from that consulate, and my 11th SETV total over the last 3 years. I always had exactly what was listed as required on their site and never had an issue. Hopefully they don't change... Is hands down my favorite SETV experience in the region.

If both of you (
@Jes****
&
@Le***
)would be kind enough to post back and clue everyone in on the process it would help the group a LOT.

The only way we know things and keep up to date is from people like you on the ground doing it.

Thanx in advance (y)

Hopefully someone will weigh in who has actual experience in dealing with that consulate BUT it's not used all that much (or at least people don't post about it much)

Had my first one from there recently. They did not ask any questions.

And I can confirm that a one week hotel reservation is fine. If you're using a condo as proof of lodging you might need more than just a contract. I think a signed copy of the owner's Thai id and/or copy of housebook or such nonsense.

Jessica Weissman I will also be there Wednesday morning. :) Looks like we're in the same boat if your last was in May. I've had a new passport since though, so that *might* benefit me.

Edit: Thank you

Ok one week is easy enough to provide

yes, when I got my last visa there I didn't have proof of accommodation.. the guy there told me I needed to show proof of at least one week... luckily I had time to run to an Internet cafe and come back!

they are not questioning what the holiday is, (and it really doesn't matter :O )

They're just wondering IF that particular consulate is closed on that day.

FWIW: neither Kuala Lumpur or Penang list the 23 as a day they're closed. Different consulates are closed for different days and it has nothing to do with the fact it's a holiday in thailand or not.

it’s King Chulalonkorn Day..... a national holiday for remembrance of Thailand’s King Rama V

Jakarta shows they're closed on the 23rd, so I'd bet dollars to durian so is Denpasar

Was wondering how strict they are with documentation (particularly accomodation - as will be many parts of thailand, and I travel with little plans)?

About to make a visa in Denpasar soon

- I noticed a post from that mentions the 23rd as a closed date for most consulates. Would that likely apply to the one in Denpasar as well?

Jessica Weissman Interesting. I don't know if my answer would've had any significance but it was about the only question he asked me after "where are you from?"
Jessica **********
Oh no, I didn't realize this was a thing... I'm heading to Bali tomorrow to do this same thing... got one there 5 months ago, but I don't remember being asked that question

I'm not surprised, last time I went I was the only person there. I guess that has it's pros and cons.
