I want to apply for a 60 day tourist visa while I'm in Vietnam. But it says that I have to show "Confirmation of legal residence in the country where you apply for the visa". Does this just mean I can show my Vietnam visa?
Also... I have already done 2 land crossings this year. Does the 2 land crossings per year restart at the beginning of the new calendar year, or is it 12 months from my first land crossing?
Many thanks!

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user inquires about applying for a Thai tourist visa from Vietnam specifically regarding the confirmation of legal residence needed for the application, asking if their Vietnam visa suffices. Community members clarify that this requirement varies by nationalities and that the Thai Embassy should be consulted for specific regulations. Additionally, they discuss the limits on land border crossings, noting that while there are restrictions on visa-exempt entries, those holding a visa face no such rules.
Only a few countries are required to be a Vietnamese resident to apply for a tourist visa in Vietnam. Where are you from?
As to border crossings per annum it's only visa exempt entries that are restricted to 2 per annum. There's no such rule if you are crossing with a visa, although if you have a history of trying to live inside Thailand on tourist/visa exempt entries a tourist visa holds no guarantee of entry
