TLDR : Answer Summary
Travelers to Thailand for 2-3 months can find affordable pay-as-you-go SIM cards, especially by avoiding airport purchases and opting for local providers like True. Users report plans starting around 150 to 235 baht ($5-$8 USD) per month for unlimited data. Recommended locations to buy SIM cards include 7/11 stores throughout the city, which offer a variety of brands and plans. Using apps like WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger over Wi-Fi is also recommended.

Get a True sim card at any
****
out of the airport . And fit it in your mobile to replace your country Sim while in Thailand .

As easy as that , and use Messenger , Watssap etc ... everywhere you go .

As easy as said !!

You can use your existing phone for WhatsApp, Facebook messenger and Line if you are connected to wifi.

Yes they are, just don't buy a sim card in the airport, wait until you get into the city. Plans vary, but I pay 200 baht per month for unlimited data ($6usd). No need to minutes or sms.

yes absolutely correct. In the City more good offers and more cheap.

What exactly you use for a contract?

Pre paid, there's no contract. I use Dtac, but AIS and True have the same 200 baht plans.
