Hope someone can offer up some pre-arrival advice.

Need help deciding what's the best mobile phone sim and Internet packages generally available for up to three months.

Where I'm staying, with friends, has a landline but no Internet facility, if that might make a difference.

Will also have at least one laptop requiring Internet access.

Are there packages catering to more than one mobile phone number so me and my companion can share data plans etc?

Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
This discussion seeks advice on the best mobile phone SIM and Internet packages available in Thailand for a stay of up to three months, particularly for a setting without existing Internet. Suggestions include purchasing SIM cards from local shops rather than the airport, which tend to be more expensive. It's also noted that packages typically offer one connection per SIM, but a WiFi dongle could be used to allow multiple connections by pairing it with separate SIMs. Recommendations for providers include DTAC, AIS, and True Mobile, with the option of using personal hotspots. Users are advised to check online for current packages and consider local insights on the best service provider for their specific location.

Check AIS, DTAC True all infoi is online to find best package for you.

Like someone said dont buy from airport

I prefer to purchase DTAC eSIM online, so I have data already at the airport, and recharge it via Google Pay in DTAC app. Notebook uses phone's hotspot.

The packages in Thailand only offer one connection (sim card), if you want more you might need to buy a WiFi dongle, and two sims, one for your phone and one for the dongle, the dongle will allow six or more connection.

just go to any of the providers. AIS , True, Dtac. Purchase a package with internet. Not expensive

Thank you. I am assuming the dongle plugs into the laptop USB port? That lets another 5 users wirelessly tether into (share) the same bandwidth or do each have their own bandwidth? Gotta be the first option, am guessing. Best I look up dtac or ais online I suppose. Might also be able to take out a three month landline fibre service, with a bit of luck. Thanks again.

AIS (green) or True Mobile (red). You'll be able to use them as personal hotspots.
