What should I do if my Thai visa application is still pending with my flight approaching?

Hey friends, submitted my app on July 19th in Manila. Requested docs on the 24th (got it back to them within the hour) and by Monday it was "Pending Approval". Last week they had 2 days off. So it's been sitting for about 7 days.

I have my flight to BKK on the 9th, which is what I put on the application. Wondering if I should email them and ask about the status. I read in another thread that they take that date into consideration for the queue.

My thought is your planning might, bring you in trouble, you tell it sits there 7 days, but as you also tell they had 2 days off, leaving just 5 working days.

10-15 days is quite normal, and the general advise is to apply about a month before travelling.

You always can friendly ask if they can speed up the process, but keep in mind it was your bad planning that resulted in this situation, so keep the tone of the email in a way that they cannot feel blamed by you.

Manila embassy is quite responsive to follow-up emails. Worth giving a try.

According to the Manila website, they state at least 10-15 work days, but suggest that you apply a month in advance. Also, when you have to re-submit documents, the clock resets. Without having to resubmit, it has only been 10 buisness days.  You should get your answer between Aug 10th and 17th

I think your situation still looks okay. I remember reading about someone who applied through Manila in early July and their status stayed at “Pending Document Check” for a very long time, so your case doesn’t seem unusual yet.

If I were you, I’d probably wait until Friday morning. If there’s still no update by then, sending a polite email to the embassy asking for a status update sounds reasonable, especially since your flight is on the 9th.
