Hi, I hold an Australian passport and am in Thailand now. Planning to apply for the MT DTV in December.

- Any recommendations re cities/countries to apply from, in terms of visa success rate, length of process and price?

- Re occupation, is it easier to write unemployed’ so that they won’t ask further evidence re income?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The post discusses an Australian passport holder currently in Thailand planning to apply for the MT DTV visa. They seek recommendations on the best cities or countries for application based on success rates, processing times, and costs. There's also a question regarding whether writing 'unemployed' on the application would avoid further income verification. Community responses suggest that applying from Australia might be beneficial due to familiarity with local documents, and clarify that being unemployed may not be advisable when applying for a workcation visa.

They definitely won’t accept you as an unemployed person if you’re applying for workcation. If you’re applying under soft power it should be fine.

Sydney was easy enough for me. It really depends on your situation. I flew back to Aus to do mine just because of having all Aussie documents ( bank , license etc) I figured it would be more effective giving it to an Australian consulate since they would be familiar with our documents 👌
