if I do border run to Mae Sai, is it ok to stay there for a couple of days before crossing over to Thailand?

If so, any recommendations for a nice clean place near the border, just to hang out for a day or two and walk around

there's not all that much to do there.. and you can't leave that area where you got the day pass for once you're in Myanmar.

Ask them at the border if you can stay or not. They used to allow people in for a couple weeks, now I think it's just a day pass..

Unfortunately this is a thai VISA advice group, not a where can I say in xxx country group. Post on a Chiang Mai or other related f/b group for recommendations..
