Hi everyone! Has anyone here successfully gotten their DTV visa through the Discover Thai Nature program?

Hi everyone! Has anyone here successfully gotten their DTV visa through the Discover Thai Nature program?

I’m trying to find out how strict the attendance requirements are. Is there a minimum number of days or hours you have to participate each week, or is it enough if you just attend a seminar every few weeks? Would love to hear about your experience. Thanks!
Answer summary
The original poster inquires about the attendance requirements for the DTV visa through the Discover Thai Nature program, specifically whether there is a minimum participation requirement. The comments include discussions on documentation needed for application, potential approval experiences, and alternative visa options like the Long-term Residency Visa (LTR), emphasizing the importance of thorough documentation to demonstrate qualifications for remote work.

What people here have not considered to have affected this outcome is his nationality?

Egyption passport & many others with limited global mobility face more scrutiny.

If I had $3 million I probably wouldn't be in this group LMAO. Just pay lawyers to handle this for you, and besides you're probably better of on the LTR anyway. DTV is for brokies.

Go to a diff country and submit the DTV as a student taking a cooking class or whatever you want instead of workcation

I think you need to show more details such as a statement showing all of the trades you made, how much income you generated from your trades each month, etc. Maybe an income tax record in your home country showing how much capital gains income you earned from trading profits last year. And a good cover letter to explain everything in detail. It's not enough to simply show a portfolio of assets unless you are doing SP. For workation you need to show that your trading activity rises to the level of working, not simply investing your money.

I provided a stock portfolio, stock trading data for the past year, and bank account statements from the beginning of the year, and they did not request any additional documents.

no business registration, no tax filings ? Then how did you prove it is your “job” and not a hobby ?

no. I manage my stock investments already +25 years, but with due care and prudence. Not as a professional trader.

I did apply -and receive- my DTV as a remote worker, for managing my real estate. This is tricky as well for the DTV and I have seen several applications being denied. I assume I got approved as I could prove by tax filings and a deed of incorporation I do this as a job.

Are you also a trader in the financial markets?

you are applying for a 5-year visa, so you need to build a strong case. You make 1 pdf as portfolio. Start introducing yourself, explain what you do and why you can do it remotely. On the following pages you add the evidence for your claims; summaries of your transactions, yearly income created by the transactions, bank statements to prove the transactions,… And if you already have a property, include this as well with the title deed.

That’s how I did it and with succes.

But again, in my opinion you should really consider the LTR.

no you don't wait for them to ask you for documents. You have to convince them to want to ask you. They will only ask you if they already think you have a chance to qualify. If you only gave them a list of your holdings and the first few months of statements, that doesn't explain what your occupation is. You didn't even include a cover letter to explain anything. You need to show several years. Even if you don't pay tax, the broker would have provided you an annual summary of trades and earnings. If you did not explain with a cover letter then the embassy will just think you have some passive investments and not work. Occupation is something you do with skills. If you don't show several years of history or success then they won't believe you even if you told them it's work. If you want a 5 year visa then you need to convince them that you have remote work and stable income for the next 5 years.

Pornography on stock exchange trading in Egypt is not subject to taxation. They could have requested trades for a five-year period, for example, which I would have provided, but they didn't ask for any additional documents. I didn't submit many documents with the request due to the limited upload capacity on their website.

it can be considered remote work, if you can show that it is your job and you are actually trading. Buying and selling stocks from time to time like many of us do, will not be enough.

Therefore a tax filing makes it easier as this shows you make revenues. I’m quite sure I was approved as I did my (real estate) transactions using an LTD. Doing the same in personal name would have been more tricky.

Do you mean that working in the stock market, trading shares, and bank interest returns is actually considered remote work? But I did not submit enough paperwork, knowing that I have been investing in the stock market for 20 years, and I only submitted a trading statement from the beginning of the year for five months, and a trading statement from another company for a year and a half.

lucky you, but that might be the problem. A remote worker needs to show salary slips and a labor contract. As a business owner, I don’t have that. But I invest in properties using my Ltd so I added the deed of incorporation and the tax filings in my application.

With your income, I would go for the LTR. A “stronger” Visa and no problem to obtain with your assets.

Otherwise, explain clearly in your portfolio for the DTV what you do, that it ain’t taxed so no tax filings available, and make a summary of your transactions of the past 2-3 years. Highlight these in your bank statements or ask your bank to make that summary.

In Egypt, there are no taxes on stock market profits. Profits and trading activity are clearly visible in the bank statements.

In the future, while the rest of the world is using AI to get things done, people here will still be asked to make three copies of their passport, sign eight times, get stamps in four different colors, and then be told to come back next month.

Do a webpage with your "work portfolio". Make 3 - 5 contracts with your friends or their companies for "investment consultations", receive 5-8 payments under these contracts (cover the costs for your friends personally) and apply as a freelance.worker with those docs. Next application do in another embassy.

Do you like to stay in Thailand for long ? You can take tourist visa.

Your application was not perfect . They mentioned that .

The threads have multiple approvals from online investors like yourself. Check posts for what they included in their application. You need to demonstrate how you work online as an investor, e.g what platforms you use, what sites you use for research, hours spent working online per day, evidence of stock income on bank statements etc.

Suggest you look at the LTR VISA... sounds like it's perfect for you. A 5+5 = 10 year Thai Visa.

********************************************

The LTR is a great visa and the category that is most subscribed to is the WP (Wealthy Pensioner) category. As you're already over 50 you could qualify for that category. ..

You apply directly thru the BOI (Board of Investment) LTR website. The process takes about 8 weeks right now to get approval. Then you schedule an appt at the LTR office down in the One Bangkok Building, they ink in the 10 year visa, a 5 year admitted until stay and a 5 year multiple re-entry permit

You do not need to use any of the people who advertise hawking the LTR (although if you're interested in that you can look on the LTR website for the approved companies)

Here's the website;

Here's the number of LTR's issued based on category too

and here is the LTR official facebook page
