TLDR : Answer Summary
An expat in Thailand is seeking advice on extending health insurance (Luma) while already in the country for a 30-day visa extension. They're concerned about potential issues with claims, as their broker indicated that insurance might only be issued for those coming from their home country. Several commenters provided insights, suggesting that it is indeed possible to extend insurance plans like AXA while in Thailand, and one user recommended True Traveller as a suitable alternative. Others shared personal experiences confirming that they have successfully extended their policies while in Thailand.

I read a reply a while back, saying it was not a requirement.

But I feel better insured in these COVID days, although I hope I don't need to use it.

I went to immigration office in Nakhonrachasima, never used either web or agent.

I had a similar problem. I went with True Traveller. Already travelling is ok for uk & eu nationals. They're backed by AXA & get excellent reviews on trustpilot. I took out policy when in Vietnam & it was accepted by ThaiPass.

of course you have to be in Thailand. Why would you extend a policy outside Thailand ? Just get new policy. Only valid from arrival date.
