TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around seeking recommendations for treating sciatica, with an emphasis on finding good doctors or chiropractors in Thailand. The community suggests various remedies like yoga, Pilates, and preventive measures such as core strengthening. Specific recommendations include a Thai masseuse in Pattaya, exercises like squats, and utilizing resources like physiotherapists and YouTube videos for stretches. The overall advice leans towards addressing the underlying issues rather than just symptom relief.
. I couldn’t get out of bed a month ago… now I’m all good, better than I was before.

25 butt to the floor squats daily cured mine.

OK massage on the middle road has very experienced Thai masseuse called Mr Yo. He does the painful kind of massages that hurt for a few days and then you're better after that. They also use Tok Sen (northern Thai hammer massage) and hot stone as part of the massage as and when they see it's appropriate. 400thb/hour. I recommend 90 minutes. Good to do yoga and pilates too to strengthen the back but for immediate treatment this should at least alleviate the pain and realign you so that you can do the yoga.

Personally I would see a physio to determine what I can safely do to remedy the issue.
If you know that answer then there are loads of videos on YouTube that you can follow.
Prevention is always better than cute so as previously mentioned, things like yoga, Pilates, tai chi/ qigong etc can help long term

Hi, had severe sciatica years ago. A doctor will simply treat symptoms (pain relief and anti-inflammatories). You need to correct the underlying problem (tight hamstrings, glutes etc). Consider yoga, pilates, core strengthening. Also consider seeing an assisted stretch technician. I'm now 10+ years pain free. Had I gone the pharma route, I'm sure I'd be in a wheelchair by now.
spot on! I’ve had years of sciatica and was able to manage it for years by my doctor recommending anti inflammatories. In my case I took Motrin and was told to take 800mg 3x per day. That’s a total of 2400mg a day which is the upper limit allowed daily. I was told drink lots of water as it’s hard on kidneys and only 1 week. Then a week off and repeat until inflammation goes down and you feel better.
I did this for years until they finally had to do artificial discs.
Be sure to see a doctor first as anti inflammatory medicine may not be good for you if you have other health problems.
Craig is also right about finding the underlying issue causing the inflammation and definitely hits the issue with core stretching.
the only thing I would add to the last 2 posts (informative and accurate) is physiotherapy not chiropractor for an assessment of underlying causes. I have been prescribed exercises to do if my sciatica flares up which has held it at bay for 7 or 8 years now 👍

Might help if you indicate where, unless you're willing to travel anywhere in Thailand to see a doctor
