TLDR : Answer Summary
For expats in Thailand holding a DTV (Tourist Visa) and engaging in physical activities, selecting the right health insurance involves multiple factors such as age, health history, and the specifics of the activities undertaken. It's generally recommended to consider options from both home countries and local providers. Some suggestions included Pacific Cross for basic in-patient coverage, Genki for those engaging in higher-risk activities, and the use of brokers like Pacific Prime for comprehensive comparisons. It's crucial to check if the chosen plan covers sports and activities adequately.

If taking a few activity risks go with Genki.

This really depends on a few things — visa type, age, health history, and what kind of physical activities you do.

Not all health insurance plans automatically cover sports or higher-risk activities, so it’s important to check the policy wording carefully.

For DTV holders, some international plans and some local plans can work, but coverage details vary a lot.

If you’d rather not get into personal details publicly, feel free to DM — happy to share general guidance

Depends on your risk appetite and financial means. If you can cover small to medium costs yourself you'll only pay $50-$70 a month, if you want everything 100% covered then it'll be $250+ a month.

I have a credit card and a bank account. No medical issues. I'll pay out of pocket for now and go to a public hospital for anything serious/expensive.
