The discussion revolves around finding affordable hotel options for a 14-day quarantine in Thailand, with various users expressing differing views on the importance of hotel quality versus cost. Some recommend specific hotels like Anantara Riverside Resort and Maple Hotel, while others caution against choosing cheap accommodations due to the confinement nature of the quarantine. The conversation touches on the current quarantine rules and alternatives like the Phuket sandbox, appealing for advice on suitable accommodations that provide a good balance of comfort and cost.
Quarentine and cheap hotel don't go hand in hand I'm afraid

Sorry for what may seem a stupid question, but have they changed the quarantine length. I thought it was 10 days only quarantine... unvaccinated by the way.

All SHA++ will cost you at least ฿1,500 a night plus the add on service

too difficult to say good morning, please and thx, right?? congrats, really congrats………..
I thought I wanted cheap too, i love a bargain. When you realise how miserable it is - you want a big flat screen, luxurious shower, nice view, comfy sofa and a big plush king bed.
I went to Citrus Suites as the food was pretty good and I had a balcony and a bath.

None will be particularly cheap as they are full board. You'll ideally want something with a balcony as well. Assuming you're vaccinated then 7 day sandbox in Phuket will be better value for you
ah, then that may limit your options. Unless you urgently need to get here I'd suggest waiting a little to see how things play out. Being in a small room for 2 weeks with poor quality food and no outside space could prove quite stressful
yes has to be international into Phuket. No transfer in BKK allowed as you have to clear customs at point of arrival. Basically they've reverted back to how things were before November 1st so 7 day sandbox in Phuket is still going. They're very organised there and it genuinely doesn't feel like a "quarantine" at all. If your PCR on arrival comes back negative you are free to roam the whole island as you please
Their are many hotel apps that I use they have cheap hotels, and in decent areas. Cheap is good!

I have done 14 day ASQ 2 times in Bangkok and done sandbox twice. Cheap is definitely not good!! I paid for a decent hotel and was able to sit by the swimming pool all day long after day 3. This would never happen at a cheap hotel.

You are our hero. Thank you for showing us the way oh great one. He is a fully grown man. If he decides he wants to save money on his hotel so he has more to spend elsewhere, it’s up to him.

Why is anyone else telling you what you want? Either help or dont! Wise men speak because they have something to say, fools because they have to say something.
why spend money on nice facilities that you can't use? I would rather spend my money after ASQ. I would spend more if a couple or family, but as single guy, cheap is good.
why? Because you want a good room for 14 days, you want a comfy bed, Tv with decent channels, fridge, microwave etc… if you go cheap you get non of these.
As long as the bed is good and the shower and internet works well I really don’t care about the rest… Forced to sit around and watch movies or work online…. Get a cheap room with a balcony…

When it comes to forcing people to quarantine at a government approved place. Cheap, or inexpensive is not in the vocabulary. Why bother coming until all the rules simmer down a bit. Two weeks in quarantine is a complete waste of time and money. The bars closed last April 20th. They just opened up with high restrictions. Can only serve between 11-2 & 5-11. Pool tables must be covered with plants on top. When I say they stop at 11 it’s actually 10:30 and you get the bums rush at 10:50. I don’t understand why they closed the bars where there are places that only have 6 people in. Yet they’ll invite thousands of people for a music festival. But that’s ok because there was no alcohol. 😉😉😉

Stumble Inn stopped serving us at 10:30 and took the beer we had and put it in a paper cup and told us to go at 10:50
You must go to different places than I do in Bangkok then. no afternoon closing, pool in play and certainly do not stop at 10:30 as you describe. Where were you?
