Hi I flew to Thailand from Manchester on March 10th and I’m due to fly home on April 19th but due to Qatar being added to the red list I’m considering extending my stay. What are my options in terms of extending?I flew out here on visa exempt! Any info would be appreciated! Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking information on options to extend their stay in Thailand after arriving on a visa-exempt basis, particularly in light of travel restrictions affecting their original return plans. Community advice suggests that they may apply for a 30-day extension based on tourism for a fee at the local immigration office, and there are suggestions regarding alternative travel arrangements.

One zone, two zones, red zones, blue zones

Say, what a lot of zones there are!

Yes, some are red, and some are blue

Some are old, and some are new

Some are sad, and some are glad.

And some zones are very very bad!

Which zones are sad or bad or glad?

Which zones require trains or planes?

I do not know, ask your…

Local embassy or Thai consulate!

They would know the answer.

I plan to get a refund but due to the recent news in the UK I believe it’s going to become increasingly hard to return home without spending £1750 on a quarantine hotel!

Assuming you don't qualify for other extension of stays, you can get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism for 1,900 THB at the local immigration office. This will add 30 days to your existing stamp

Thanks for the reply mate! As the covid extension ends March 30th I wouldn’t be able to apply for that. I’ll look into 30 day tourism extension! Cheers again

I've been here since march 21st 2020 on a Tourist visa they have never asked me to do the 30 day extension while covid extensions are available.

most offices will not allow a COVID 60 days extension unless you have used the 30 days you are entitled to first.

Which immigration office are you using?

@Jack *****
you can apply before your visa expires for the covid extension say on the 29th March

Cheers for the reply! Still considering my options and have plenty of time so I’m not worried, yet , haha

Maybe, maybe not. Most immigration offices want a person to get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism first
