Got my visa extension for 30 days yesterday in Bangkok, easy process. The stamp has two dates on it. Seems to indicate that I have to absolutely leave the country by April 19th, 2023. Never seen that before. Just curious under what circumstances the second date is stamped on?

TLDR : Answer Summary
A user successfully obtained a 30-day visa extension in Bangkok but noticed that two dates were stamped on the extension. The community discussed that it's not uncommon for incorrect dates to be stamped and later corrected with a strike-through and initials by the immigration officer. The conversation also touched on the requirement of a TM30 form and the timeline for applying for visa extensions, especially in the context of ongoing COVID-19 extensions.

It was just the wrong date stamped in. and it happens quite a lot actually. it's why the date was struck thru and the officer initialed it.

You applied for a 30 day extension based on clause 2.4 <- tourism and you got the the correct date stamped above the bad one

looks like you have 4 more weeks. Why is the 2023 date cancelled?

well I applied for visa extension in January which will expire on 1st of April now I want to apply again for Covid extension as they said that the last date for applying is 25 March.

oookaayyy. The more info you give the better the answer you get. Yes. COVID extension is due to end on 25th March. Will it be extended again 🤷

You could easily argue plausible deniability next year when you try to leave or extend again. 😂

@Jake *******
no. they didn't. I just filled address of hotel on TM7. better photocopy passport bio page, arrival stamp page with TM6 before hand. Photocopy line at the immigration very very long

thank you for your reply.

That is an error. Struck through and initialed. The correct date is above.

I see April 19, 2022 not 2023.

I guess you're so happy with the 395 days that you forgot to ask why the date is crossed and signed and a new period of 30 days came in place?
