Situation: on Tourist TR visa, valid 11 Jan 2021 until 10 April 2021. Entered Thailand January 13. Entry stamp says “admitted 13 Jan signed until 13 Mar”.

Question: What is the difference between the visa dates and the entry stamp dates? What do I need to do before 13 March?

Gracias

TLDR : Answer Summary
The posting discusses the differences between the dates on a Tourist TR visa and the entry stamp for a traveler in Thailand. The visa is valid for entry until April 10, 2021, while the entry stamp allows a stay until March 13, 2021. It emphasizes the need to leave Thailand or apply for an extension before that date to avoid overstaying. Community comments suggest possible options for extending the stay, including a standard 30-day extension for tourism at a fee, and a special 60-day extension related to COVID-19 circumstances. The conversation also addresses the uncertainty surrounding future extension options after the end of March.

Basically you have to leave before the 13th unless you get a 30 day extension before, which only took me about 15 minutes the other day and was quite easy, in Bangkok I was able to show up with only my passport and 1900 baht and got all the forms when I was there as well as my photos and photocopy for 102 baht, you may be able to get a 60 day covid extension after that if they renew it which is currently set to expire end of this month

If you pay the 1900 Baht for extend, you will get a stamp like this for 30 days more. You can extend it at any time, not need to wait for the last minute. Very easy. ☺️🙏

Is it possible to extend more than 30 days or not? If it is, what kind of extension is it? What is the requirement?

what reason would be the extension?

I am planning to get married with my Thai girlfriend. As I am from Nepal, it takes longer time to get it done. 15 days quarantine and 45 days for marriage registration won't be enough and I don't want to get back Nepal as there is no direct flight yet. Transit flight cost is quite high. If it's possible I want to stay longer till we receive marriage certificate then I will go back Nepal to apply Non-O marriage visa. Kindly suggest.

you can apply for a 60 day extension of stay based on unable to travel due to COVID-19 as well. The last day they are selling this extension is March 30.

Will there be 60 day extension after 30 March?

nobody knows the answer to that question until the government makes some announcement.

If you want to stay longer, you can get a 30 day extension of stay based on tourism. That extension is 1,900 THB and requires your passport, a copy of your data page, entry stamp, visa, 2x passport pictures, and the money.

You must exit the kingdom before 13 March. If you want to apply for an extension of stay, you must also do that before 13 March or you will go into overstay.

I believe it's ON or before, not before. He can leave ON the 13th and he can also apply for an extension ON the 13th, if the immigration office is open on a Saturday.

That is correct. I probably should have been more clear, must exit before 23:59 on 13 March. I think that the crux of the situation here is that the OP thought he could stay until the last day of his visa, not his permitted stay stamp. I think that has been clarified now.

If you are getting an extension go off of the stamp not the visa if you are extending go tomorrow and get it done it 500 baht a day I overstayed 6 days

Your visa is the sticker. You have 90 days to enter Thailand before the visa becomes invalid. On entry, you are stamped for 60 days. You must leave by the “admitted to “ stamp, or get an extension of stay.

So then the 90 days on the visa is a window in which to enter the kingdom and begin using my 60 days. The stamp marks the actual 60 days used.

@Benjamin *****
So, the dates on the visa are a 90-day window in which to use up my 60 days in country. The visa expires on the earlier of the two dates. Got it, thank you.

close. If you enter Thailand on the last day of your visa, you will still be stamped in for 60 days
