Should I pick up my LTR Visa in Ottawa or Bangkok as a Canadian?

Any Canadians here who got the LTR Visa? Wondering if I should opt for picking up the LTR visa in Ottawa or BangkokπŸ€”

When you choose the Bangkok pickup option, it looks like they ask for a lot more information vs Ottawa, you just pick up the visa. I'm thinking of going for the Ottawa pick up since it's not too far from me and just so I can get it out of the way asap.

Would love to hear anyone else's experience actually picking up the visa. Thanks! πŸ™

TLDR : Answer Summary
A Canadian expat is seeking advice on whether to pick up their Long Term Resident (LTR) Visa in Ottawa or Bangkok. They noted that Bangkok requires more information for pickup, whereas Ottawa is more straightforward. Some comments suggest that the costs and the type of visa received (e-visa versus stamped passport) could influence the decision, with one user sharing a positive experience with the e-visa option.

It costs more money if you get it before you come. The embassies use a shitty exchange rate.

Also you'll get it as an evisa and have to carry the printed visa with you for 10 years instead of a stamp in your passport.

Man I was hoping the evisa might be less hassle like scanning something from an app. Good to know!

I had no problem picking it up at BKK. Their offices are co-located with immigration and they will walk you thru. Have to wear pants lol

Well I've told you before about wearing a dress and heels to Immigration. It might work in Canada but it doesn't cut the ice here mate πŸ˜†
