Arriving first week of October - landing in Bangkok and then taking a connecting flight to Chiang Mai - with a narrow window of just 2 hours.
Should I get my visa stamped at Suvarnabhumi Airport or at Chiang Mai Airport?
Thank you for your help :)

TLDR : Answer Summary
When arriving in Bangkok and transferring to a connecting flight to Chiang Mai, you should get your visa stamped at Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK). Although you have a narrow window of two hours, if your baggage is checked through to Chiang Mai, this time is generally considered sufficient. You will need to pass through immigration at BKK before boarding your domestic flight to CNX. It's advisable to account for potential queues at immigration, especially during busy times.
There is a separate immigration gate in the transfer gate. Is your bag checked through to CM? If so 2 hours is ample. Done it a few times. If baggage is not checked through you will need to clear immigration at BKK. Then it in the hands of the queues.
So very kind - I'll try and reach out when are there - reaching on 5th Oct morning - will be meeting people to find a way to settle down for a long term stay - some say ED could be the best bet.

Enjoy Chiang Mai. I love living there. Pm me if you need any help.
- we will make sure that our luggage is checked in till CM - we will have our boarding passes till CM - so the only thing remains is getting the visas stamped and report to the boarding gate :)
Thank you so much

You will be stamped in at Swampy... can take an hour at busy times. October should be OK... but you have to get from international arrivals to domestic departures. Far too tight for comfort unless you are 'transiting ' through Bangkok, which I doubt.

Im 95% sure Swampy has an international to domestic gate (DMK absolutely does, I havent flown through BKK for 4 years) which doesnt mean getting stuck in the general customs queues.

You don't need a passport to fly Bangkok to Chiang Mai.

Flying to CNX via BKK or DMK though?

If it's a connecting flight there is passport control at the transfer gate to BKK domestic from international where you'll most likely get your passport checked.

You go through immigration at swampy.just before you board your flight.to cnx.
