Soft power “how you intend to support yourself and future plans”
Hello everyone, I am applying for a 6 months Muay Thai course.
I practice this sport in Europe too, therefore a soft power DTV is perfect for my goals.
I currently have 800K in bank account, so over the 500K requested.
Plus I get every month from normal part time work in my country about 1000 euros.
If the embassy asks “how you intend to support yourself”, is it okay to simply say savings? Connecting it to their second question “what’s your plan after the 6 months course” basically I would like to keep practicing Muay Thai in Thailand, but I will probably need to come back to my home country for at least 3 months to finish my job contract. I am focusing on opening a business for online income for the future, but right now a normal job is the only thing I can do.
Is it okay for the application to state savings & come back to my country? Or should I say something different in the Cover Letter like saving & apply for a new Muay Thai course?
Need advice, thank you 🙏

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is applying for a 6-month Muay Thai course in Thailand and is concerned about how to address financial support and future plans during the visa application process. They possess savings exceeding the required amount and earn a part-time income, but are unsure about how to clearly communicate this in the application. Comments from the community suggest various strategies, including providing a straightforward explanation of financial circumstances, emphasizing their long-term commitment to Muay Thai, and considering alternative visa options.
Keep your answer as simple as possible. But yes, you have savings to fund yourself after 6 months + you receive income from work completed in your home country 👍
Your proposed plan travelling back and forth as you stated sounds okay. I'd provide a few pictures or certificates showing your past Muay Thai experience and emphasize it's been/is a long term lifestyle/fitness regimen. Spice it up with any cultural interests that Thailand has for you.
Vietnam embassys usually ask this. They generally accept a cover letter simply explaining your financial circumstances. They rarely ask for any further evidence if the cover letter makes sense.
The DTV is valid for 5 years and that is way to long for your plans.
Apply for the Multiple Entry Tourist Visa which with good use cover the time period of your Muay Thai training course.
Get back home, finish your job, set up a new on-line company and when it brings revenue, apply for the DTV workcation and you can move to Thailand to train in your spare time.
