Flew back to Germany and applied for DTV in Munich. Was pleasantly surprised that it only took 5 business days to get approved.

Here’s what I provided in case it’s helpful to someone in the future πŸ‘‡πŸΌ

Embassy: Munich, applied online

DTV Type: Workcation / Digital Nomad

Applied Date: March 2nd 2025 (Sun)

Approved Date: March 7th 2025 (Fri)

Provided:

- German business registration (Gewerbeschein)

- Scan of passport page

- Website (screenshotted the website and provided as a pdf + added domain link on top of the pdf). Website includes testimonials from past clients, portfolio showcasing work, etc.

- Bank statement (pdf) showing only final balance of above 500.000baht and date

- Biometric Passport photo

- Certificate of registration (Meldebescheinigung)

No interview or extra documents were requested. Received Visa per mail 5 days later.

Big thank you to the people in this group providing help and input ✌🏼

Do you know if you can keep your company if you stay outside of Germany for more than 180 days? Or would there be any issues with your main residence? What could happen if you stay abroad longer, for example, in Thailand with a DTV Visa? I’d like to have a German client while operating a freelance business and live and work from Thailand for as long as possible, then repeat.

Does this money have to be in a Thai bank account?

Thank You for your helpful report πŸ‘

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘πŸ‘

PRINT OUT THE EMAIL THAT HAS YOUR DTV VISA.

That's what you should do... print it out.

You may have to show PROOF of your DTV Visa to airline staff on check-in for your flight ✈️ to Thailand...even to the connecting airline staff. Or to the land border crossing entry Thai Immigration Officer.

Upon arrival into Thailand, show the DTV visa to the Thai Immigration Officer and look at the STAMP placed in your passport to be sure you are STAMPED in for 180 days.

No, I went into my online banking and exported the bank statement of 1 day only (eg March 1st) showing a balance higher than 500.000+

There was no way of seeing how long the balance was on there
