Hi everyone,

I hold an Italian passport and currently on an Non-Immigrant ED visa. A company wants to hire me, should I cancel the ED Visa before going abroad to get the Non Immigrant B Visa.

Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is seeking advice on whether to cancel their Non-Immigrant ED visa before traveling abroad to apply for a Non-Immigrant B Visa. A comment suggests checking the visa stamp to determine the need for cancellation, advising that if the visa has an 'extension of stay' permission, it should be officially cancelled with proper documentation from a school before leaving Thailand. If the user is still under the original 90-day ED visa, simply leaving will cancel it.

Look in your passport and see what your current stamp says.

If it says "extension of stay permitted until" and has a date, YES get that cancelled before you leave the country because just stamping out on it will not officially cancel it.

So get a letter from your school stating you stop studying on xxx date, go to the immigration office a week or so before that date, they should cancel the current extension and stamp you in until the termination of study date on the paper from the school. Because you went a week or so before that date, you have that time to arrange to get OUT of thailand.

On the other hand;

IF you are still on the original 90 days from the ED visa you just leave and it cancels when you stamp out. It's only extensions of stays you need to cancel before you leave.

It's on the original 90 days, but the school told me that I need to cancel it first while the company says I can cancel when I'm back with the non immigrant b visa, thank you very much for your reply

if it's the original 90 days on the ED visa both the school & your future employer are both wrong.. ๐Ÿ˜• ๐Ÿ™

You are allowed to stay the 90 days once that visa is issued whether you go to school or not AND it can't be cancelled at the immigration office. Only extensions can be cancelled,

You stamping out of the country is how a 90 day admitted until stamp from an ED visa is cancelled ๐Ÿ™‚
