Hi all!
I'm currently studying Thai language holding a NON ED visa on my Spanish passport. The visa is still valid until March 28th (original 90 days, not extended yet).
Recently I got a job offer and the HR manager told me they cannot process any paperwork for a NON B until I cancel my current NON ED because the latter would remain in immigration record.
Does this make sense? Shouldn't they be able to prepare all the documents required for me to just fly abroad and apply for a NON B?
Many thanks for you time and insight :)
Cheers
TLDR : Answer Summary
The user, holding a NON ED visa, inquired about transitioning to a NON B visa after receiving a job offer. They were informed by HR that they need to cancel their current visa before the company can process the necessary paperwork. Responses from the community suggest that the company should be able to prepare documentation without needing to cancel the current visa first, indicating potential misunderstandings about immigration regulations.
