Should I apply for my visa extension in my home province or the closest immigration office?

Hello!

Tomorrow I'm going for an extension on a 30 day land entry. Staying in Trat Province, but Chanthaburi immigration is closer.

Should I go to my "home" province?

In addition we are staying at a friend's house, other than a hotel. Do we need any paperwork from them?

Thank You!
