If I am an Australian citizen planning to visit Laos, should I apply for my DTV Visa in Australia or upon arrival in Laos?
Answer summary
The discussion revolves around whether an Australian citizen should apply for the DTV Visa for Laos in Australia or upon arrival in Laos. Suggestions lean towards applying in Australia for convenience and familiarity with Australian documents, despite potential cost savings by applying in Laos. Concerns about possible rejections when applying in Laos due to document misunderstandings also support the recommendation to apply in the home country.

I always advocate apply in your home country wherever possible. There seems to be a lot of people complaining that they were rejected in Laos or Vietnam because the embassy did not understand their documents. Obviously the Australian Embassy will be more familiar with your Australian documents so its going to be best and easiest to apply there.
