What should I do if my DTV application status is still 'Pending Document Check'?

Help! 

Hi everyone, I'd like your opinion.

I arrived in KL on July 1st to apply for my DTV and the timeline is as follows:

July 3rd: Initial application submitted

July 4th: Fee paid

July 8th: Additional documents requested (proof of income for 6 months and company registration)

After that, the status is "Pending Document Check" to this day.

In the meantime, on July 16th I sent an email to visa.kul@mfa.go.th, but I haven't received a response.

I thought about going to the embassy in person to check the status. Do you think they might misinterpret this?

I wish you all the best! Malaysia is known for one of the most hardest country to apply for DTV.

KL states at least 15 working days and the clock resets when you submit new documents. Since there are holidays this week, you should hit 15 days on Friday

DTV_BegPecker Yes, that’s why they asked me to wait. I have a flight to Thailand booked for July 29th. If it doesn't come through by then, I’ll enter Thailand and just do a border run later.

Officially, you are not supposed to leave the jurisdiction where it is being processed. However, many get away with it, as hard for the embassy to know. That said, KL is a strict one, so not sure I would try it with them.

DTV_BegPecker That was the guidance they gave in case it isn't issued by my flight date. And once approved, they said re-entry can be made through any country.

Once they receive requested docs the approval timeline is reset to O. There are Thai National hols this week, the embassy maybe closed. Unlikely you will get meaningful answers going in person. Contacting them via email, social media has worked with embassies.

I came to the embassy in person to check the status, and I was told to wait for the review, which is being conducted in the order the applications are processed.
