Will a recent bank transfer of 500k impact my DTV visa application if my account shows a negative balance?

Applying for DTV with bank statement with 500k NOT for 3 months. Just transfered this month.

Reason being I keep my money in my homeloan offset account. And transfered 500k just for this.

I have way more than enough fund but the bank statement on the loan says I’m in negative…

Is this going to be an issue. What should I do?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about applying for a DTV visa with a bank statement showing a recent deposit of 500k, but their loan account balance is negative because the funds were just transferred for the application. The conversation includes advice from others who suggest using a bank report that shows a positive balance from a different account, and caution about how embassies may view recent deposits and negative balances.

Hey Duke,

There is always a solution to every situation, I send you a PM but I highly doubt without anything else they would accept -200k as a balance point but lmk if you want to discuss your current situation.

I was in this exact situation. I thought best not to show a negative account balance (from mortgage), and used a static proof of balance report from the bank - after transferring it to the other bank account.

I was expecting them to ask for further information but they approved with no further requests.

Let them ask for additional detail - don’t negotiate against yourself by showing additional detail that might result in rejection

Which embassy are you applying from? Recent deposits are not acceptable with every embassy.

ok that used to be ok with just a final balance but recently some say 3 months seasoning is required now. You should double check, it is a good embassy to apply from anyway

how about Cambodia

Anonymous participant 958 Cambodia is taking 4-6 weeks to approve. Due to the ongoing dispute it is quicker to apply nearby. As far as I know, a final balance of 500K with 6 months of statements is ok there.

, even if the cash deposit can be demonstrated to have originated from a linked account?

the linked account in this case is an "offset" account so will have a negative balance

Yes, some embassies require the 50OK to be seasoned for 3-6months, others are fine with a final balance of 500k with 3-Six-month of statements.

You should show whatever account that has held your cash assets and submit that along with the account you just put the money in. If it shows something other than cash assets and a negative balance you have to ask yourself what the people receiving the application are going to think about it.

Showing an account that just received the money but didn't have it prior is unlikely to be in your favor.

the account holding the cash shows a negative balance though.

unfortunately I don’t have the time to hold it there for 3 months. I need it in a week….

Well I would highly highly highly suggest you hold that cash in the account for 3 months because the odds you will be rejected because you have a hugely negative account and one that just had money inserted into it is very high. Even without showing the negative account the odds of rejection are fairly high.

"I'm taking a loan of my house to make the minimum holding number" doesn't scream "Yeah we want to give that person a 5 year visa to the Kingdom"

because it’s a homeloan with -$500,000 but I’ve filled it up with $200,000 so the statement shows -$300,000
