How many of you guys here have gotten approved using Wise?

I’ve seen mixed feedback on certain countries/embassies approving/denying. I’ve only got Wise that has the balance.

Thanks! I’m applying in a week so I’m pretty nervous 😬

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the use of Wise, a financial service, as proof of funds for visa applications to Thailand, particularly regarding the DTV and NON-O visas. There is mixed feedback about the acceptance of Wise account statements by embassies. Some users assert that Wise can provide sufficient financial documentation, while others clarify that Wise is not a bank and has no direct affiliation with DTV visas. One user mentioned withdrawing significant monthly amounts for living expenses and applying for a visa related to a Thai child.

Wise has nothing to do with DTV. It is not a bank.

ThoughtfulLychee5096 lots of feedback that “wise is not a real bank so rejected” in Malaysia and Japan I’ve seen, Vietnam approves it

rejected for what and approve it for what? You write text that only you can understand it.

ThoughtfulLychee5096 - one of the DTV requirements is having 500K in your bank account. Some people want to show they have 500K on wise. Most embassies don’t accept it, as it isn’t a traditional bank, but some have been successful.

Also chat GPT says immigration like you sending money into Thailand that’s what I do I withdraw over 60K a month for spending money, paying my gf and rent I’m possibly going to be the father to a Thai child so I’m going for the non immigrant o Thai child visa which just needs an income of 40K a month I exceed that by over 3 x

Anonymous participant 839 You need to be a legal parent to a Thai child. Your girlfriends child whether yours or someone else's won't count. You also need to have legal custody.

PS. AI is BS.

legal parent all I need is birth certificate confirming I am father and proof of relationship and financial support of mother and I well exceed the 40K a month requirement. I earn 160K baht per month

Anonymous participant 839 So your girlfriend is actually your wife or you got the child legitimised in court ?

it will be my child born in Thailand and I am in a relationship with the mother so I will have full custody simples

Anonymous participant 839 you are more than a little confused. :o

If you have a Thai child and you are not married to the mother, you get no legal parental rights as the foreign father..

You cannot use the child to get a non-o visa inside the country or a year extension based on supporting a Thai child inside the country until you get granted legal parental rights.

You do that by two methods: going through family court and getting parental rights by decree or once the child is 6 years old you can do it at the local city hall (Amphur.)

I don't think people are trying to be negative, I think they are trying to point out that you don't have the slightest idea what you're talking about. :/

You would be able to get a non-ovisa based on having a Thai child outside the country at a Thai consulate that would stamp you in for 90 days

and

you could indeed get at 60 day visit Thai family extension, but those would be the only things you could do without having legal parental rights granted.

And one last time just having your name on the birth certificate does not give you legal parental rights as a foreign father of a Thai child born out of wedlock.

Best of luck with it (y)

Wise should be fine. You can download their statements which should meet their requirements
