Is there a fee for extending a visa-exempt stay in Thailand for Americans, and how many times can it be extended?

When you enter Thailand visa exempt (American), is there a fee for each 30 day extension? I believe you can extend 2 times, for a total of 90 days, correct?

TLDR : Answer Summary
When entering Thailand visa exempt, Americans can extend their stay for a fee of 1900 baht, but this extension can only be done once, allowing a total stay of 90 days. For a guaranteed 90-day stay, it is recommended to apply for a TR visa that allows an initial 60 days with an option to extend for an additional 30 days.

One time only and fee is 1900 baht.

You want a guaranteed 90 days get TR visa 60 days which can also be extended 30 days

I applied for STV (which is 90 days with two 90 day extensions) but I’m unsure if it will be processed by the time I arrive in Thailand so I’m looking at back up possibilities.

extend once so 60 days and pray for no quarantine anymore by that time, apply for student visa, go to Laos to do your thai student visa (1y)

STV is 90 days with 2 extensions, hopefully it comes through. Thanks will look into that if STV doesn’t come through.
