Hello, I have an appt next week in Vietnam for DTV. I have all my docs ready and am wondering if there is a "DTV Application" I can download and fill out ahead of time?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The DTV application form cannot be downloaded as a separate document; instead, you need to use the standard application form available on the respective consulate's website. Each consulate, such as those in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, has its own application form, so be sure to download the correct one. Additionally, it is advised to prepare for the possibility of needing an extra appointment based on your eligibility.

Yes and make sure it’s for the right office. Are you confident you meet the criteria? Give yourself a few extra days in case you need to come back for another appointment.

Yes, confident I meet the criteria and have all of my docs ready. Made an appt in HCMC on a Monday morning and am booked to fly out Thursday late evening. Can always extend if needed.

I will also be at the consulate on Monday morning in HCMC 🙂 I have everything ready to go. I downloaded the form from their website. I didn't book my flight on Thursday yet, in case something happens but from what I have read from HCMC, it's almost a guaranteed 2 days.

Yeah, they definitely require mint condition USD and exact change, they will not give you any change. I have what I consider new USD but even the money exchanger in Bangkok wouldn't take them because there was a pink discoloration on them...we'll see.

Ok thanks for the clarification as I've only seen info in Thai baht!

@Shannon ******
yeah, outside embassies do not accept Baht. They have their own price in their own currency unless its SE Asia most of them quote in USD. I think that Laos accepts 10,000 baht so they are probably the "cheapest" but Vietnam is $340.

Cool, maybe see you there! How will we know what the exact USD amount is when the currency conversion is constantly changing?
Tim ***********
@Shannon ******
It's quoted as $340 USD so no conversions needed just prepare the $340 in USD.

Should work they have a posted two business day processing time (not counting the day you turn in your application)

So apply Monday morning, get your passport back Wednesday afternoon.

good luck with it,

Remember they want PRISTINE USD bank notes for the visa visa.

There's a money changer not too far away from the Thai Consulate there .

you’re like a passive aggressive little girl. Grow up bro.

Why are you trying to make everyone so afraid to apply? Are you that miserable and you want everyone else be the same? Like try a bit of positivity mate and look for solutions and answers. Not just problems.

just visited HCMC consulate and they just had us add a handwritten DTV checkbox to the "visa type" area of the form

Ok great. And can we pay via cash or Thai QR code?
Chris *********
@Shannon ******
US cash only at HCMC and I can't emphasize enough how crisp, perfect and new they wanted the bills to be
Tod *********
there is not, it's the same application form you can download from the consualte website

EACH consulate (hanoi and HCMC) has their own form so down load the correct one
