Hello ! Firstly, I apologize for a long post.
I employed a person, as a teacher, last March, who unfortunately traveled back to the States just before the COVID-19 pandemic took hold. He has since been stranded in the US. He does not possess a NON-B for Teaching, nor does he have a current Work Permit.
I called the Labor Office to ask about the requirement of WP3 form and they told me that the WP3 form is not a requirement for NON-B for Teaching, and that Foreigners must obtain the NON-B for Teaching first before re-entry into Thailand and then apply for a Work Permit once they are in Thailand. Though , The Thai embassy in the US still insists that I need to submit a request for work permit as part of a process for obtaining NON-B.
So, is the WP3 form one of the requirement to obtain non-b for teaching ? I even checked the list and it is not listed as a requirement for NON-B teaching. If a person can obtain a NON - B visa but not a work permit , can or when can he enter Thailand ?
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry revolves around the confusion regarding the requirement of the WP3 form for obtaining a NON-B visa for teaching in Thailand. The person inquiring has been informed by the Labor Office that the WP3 form is not needed for the NON-B visa, while the Thai embassy in the US insists it is a requirement. Comments suggest that many Thai consulates require proof of a work permit application for the NON-B visa and that the Ministry of Labour is currently not processing new work permit applications. The discussion emphasizes the need for clarity on visa processes and entry procedures amidst the ongoing COVID-19 situation.
