Has anybody got recent experience on getting single entry “Non B” from the consulate in Hong Kong.
Mainly if they require the WP 3 ??
I emailed them as I am preparing documents for a member of my staff and received a slightly conflicting/confusing reply
This was at the bottom of email after listed documents
In order to expedite visa issuance, your employer may, on your behalf, apply for the Work Permit in advance (with the form called Tor Thor 3). The Department of Employment will then issue a pre-approved certificate to be used in your visa application. In such case, please make sure to obtain the Work Permit (Tor Thor 2) once you arrive in Thailand.
TLDR : Answer Summary
Recent experiences shared by users indicate that obtaining a Non-B visa from the Thai consulate in Hong Kong may not always require a Work Permit 3 (WP3), contrary to what is traditionally expected. Several users successfully applied without the WP3, submitting only an invitation letter, company documents, and standard application materials. Others noted that consulate staff may inquire about the necessity of the WP3 but often do not enforce it strictly. The general sentiment remains that the Hong Kong consulate tends to be more lenient compared to others in the region.
