Hi there, a question to those who have used the evisa website: I've noticed that thaievisa.go.th is not a secure site (it is http: not https:). Is this your experience as well? Am I missing something? I have tried Chrome and Firefox browsers. TIA for your comments.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The discussion revolves around the security of the Thai eVisa website, thaievisa.go.th. Users noted that the site is accessible through both HTTP and HTTPS. While some report it showing as secure in Chrome with SSL certification, others experience access issues with HTTPS on Firefox. Overall, there are concerns about data security, highlighting the importance of website security practices beyond just browser indicators.

It is https, you can see it if you copy the URL

Website security does not come from the browser. The person who created the website adds the security. I love reading people’s explanations when they have zero technical knowledge.

There are likely some browser differences. When I use Firefox with https I get an error. It works with http.

With Chrome, Brandon you are correct, it works as you said above.

It is accessible by HTTP (

), and HTTPS (

).

Chrome should automatically redirect to https, but FireFox may still allow your to access the non-https version.

The site has always operated in this manner.

Nope , it is https if I open the link you provided:

Most browsers no longer show https in the browser bar. But Chrome says it's secure with SSL with a valid certificate.

Believe me, the browser is the least of your concerns when it comes to the security of your data. The Thai government has constant external data breaches and people inside selling data.
