Hi all, I'm sure this has been asked many times. I am Australian. I did my tourist, Thai visa online. (Thaievisa.go.th) on the weekend. It says it's pending. How long do you have to wait for it to process? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
An Australian user recently inquired about the processing time for a Thai tourist eVisa after submitting their application on Thaievisa.go.th. Since eVisa applications for Australians have just begun and the processing times are still uncertain, community members shared experiences and insights. Processing can vary considerably depending on the consulate involved, ranging from 3 days to potentially 2 months. One commenter noted their own successful application through the Sydney consulate, receiving approval within 5 days.

Hi all, just updating my post for all those following. I received my 60 day evisa today. So that has been 5 day since submitting.

I am currently in Indonesia (initially I checked indo as where I was, which didn't give me a choice). I then choose Australia as where I was coming from. 2 choices available, Canberra and Qld consulates. I choose Canberra. I did provide flight details Denpasar - Bangkok flight. So I'm all good. Thanks for all the messages. Looking forward to my time in Thailand. Cheers.

My understanding is the 90 day getting a bit hard to get unless for work , study or business.

My friend recently did one immigration(1900 baht ) extension and one border hop day trip to Laos to get his 90 days. Not sure of the Laos cost.

Once you enter on a 60 day Tourist Visa it is almost a formality to get the 30 day extension

Why do you need a tourist visa as an Australian

My understanding you received 30 days on arrival with a possible 30 day extension or have I missed something here.?

Because a Tourist Visa is cheaper than an extension, it'sapplied for from the comfort of your own home not at an Immigration Office queue and if your stay is 30 to 59 days you have your proof of onward travel. It also gives you the option of staying up to 90 days without a border bounce.

Depends on the Embassy/Consulate that is dealing with it. Is there more that one place in Australia?

So you applied in Australia, but you want to enter Thailand from Indonesia? Usually you need a flight from the country you are applying (Australia) to Thailand.

I am in Indonesia and when asked I pressed indo but there are no embassy choices so it next said find the next option. So I said I was in Australia. Which had 2 options of consulates. Might be downfall and lose the $60 fee. Then I'll just turn up and get the 30 days and extend while in Thailand. Was hoping to avoid the hassle.

you're probably going to be denied then. The Thai embassy in Indonesia does not support evisa yet. So you must apply in person.

You're required to apply at the Thai embassy based on where you physically are and if you're not physically in Australia you cannot use the evisa application for Australia.

It hasn't been asked many times because the Australian embassies just started accepting evisa last week. So you're one of the first. No one knows how long it will take.

The embassies in other countries take anywhere from 3 days to 2 months to process a tourist visa.

Please report back on how long yours took to help others in the future. And say which embassy you applied through, as there are 2 in Australia and they will likely have different processing times.

Can be dependant on how long time before departure you apply for the touristvisa, since many embassies proces the application after departure date, sending the visa to your email 1-2 weeks before departure, regardless if applyed for 2 months or 2 weeks before.
