Hi, can anyone tell me if the Ranong to Myanmar crossing is operational at the moment? Do I just show up, and negotiate with the boat owners? What is the going rate to use an agent? Any agent recommendations? Thank you š

TLDR : Answer Summary
The Ranong to Myanmar crossing is currently operational, and travelers can negotiate directly with boat owners. While some have reported that using agents could lead to negative experiences, it's important to research thoroughly. There have been recent reports of individuals successfully crossing with minimal issues, gaining an extra 30-day passport stamp. Caution is advised due to ongoing conflicts in Myanmar.
Two weeks ago many people were waiting in queue at Passport office and others negotiating with boat owners. No problems getting passport stamp for extra 30 days.
The only reason I would go back to Burma is to join the people's resistance army.

It is open. You can negotiate with the boat owners yourself.
