TLDR : Answer Summary
The immigration office in Phuket Town will be open on December 25th, as Christmas is not recognized as a public holiday in Thailand. Despite the presence of Christmas decorations, all immigration offices in Thailand remain operational during this date.

Christmas is not a public holiday in Thailand. Immigration and other government offices will be open tomorrow.

If it is a public holiday in Thailand all Immigration Offices are closed. Now we get the question for every individual office. To make it clear: There is NO official holiday in Thailand for Christmas and ALL Immigration offices are open in Thailand.

Tell that to all the Malls in the city.

I don't think it's a totally unreasonable question, especially given the Christmas trees all over the place (including in immigration!) It's a public holiday in many neighboring countries such as Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Indonesia, the Philippines and Brunei. So most of ASEAN. It's a public holiday in India and Sri Lanka as well. Not here. But hardly a crazy question either, it's a holiday in a lot of places.

Why should they be closed? Immigration offices are all open.

Must be the umpteenth time the same question has been asked in this group, is immigration opened on Monday, Christmas day..?
Robert *******
Christmas is not a party or public or national holiday in Thailand. It is a tourist thing.
