ORIGINAL POSTER
I entered Thailand on the 2nd March visa exempt and only stayed 2 weeks, I have only visited once before this and it was over a year ago and only for a few weeks as well. Im looking at coming again at the end of April but Im not sure if I might have problems entering visa exempt again before the original 60 day stamp from march expires on the 30th April? Does anyone have any experience of this? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about re-entering Thailand visa exempt at the end of April after having previously entered on March 2nd and staying for two weeks. Comments from the community indicate that as long as the user has exited Thailand, their previous 60-day visa exemption becomes invalid, allowing them to receive a new exemption upon re-entry. Many have shared experiences without issues, emphasizing that showing proof of onward travel and other requirements can aid in smooth re-entry. Concerns primarily focus on potential scrutiny by immigration, especially if one stays for extended periods without a long-term visa.

According to all the reports I've seen Thai Immigration are cracking down on 'non-tourists' entering on a tourist visa. Like those people that come in on a 60 day visa waiver (visa on arrival), extend it for another 30 days then leave for a few days and come straight back and try and do the same again. Meaning those people that are trying live in Thailand for 6 months or more without a long term visa. There are lots of real tourists who stay for a couple of weeks then leave only to come back a month or 2 later and keep repeating this (like oil rig workers) these don't appear to have any problems as they only stay a short while and the total is well under 6 months each year.

As long as you show a stamp in a different country once you leave then you will be fine. You are not doing boarder runs or trying to use the system so all is well.

"but Im not sure if I might have problems entering visa exempt again before the original 60 day stamp from march expires on the 30th April" , , , , , , your 60-days stay permit became invalid when you exited Thailand. So, when you enter visa-exempt again, you will receive a fresh & new 60-days admitted stay stamp in your passport. Your total stay did not put you at the end of the road, you actually have nothing to fear. Just have the famous three proofs ready to show if asked

People have problems are the one stayed 60 days and left for a few days and stayed another 60 days multiple times.

Mark Jones the number of entries within a one-year period is not really relevant. What Immigration consider a misuse of touristic entries is the total number of days you spent visa-exempt, and if you extended these stays. If you exceed 157 days per one-year period, you can be denied entry

Nongnuch Kamdee yes I keep it under 150 days .. did 45 days . Now back in may for 53 days . Will hopefully one more trip later in the year . Always a few months in between trips . Keep photos handy to prove that I'm a tourist if ever asked

Once ypu left your exemption was canceled. You will probably be fine if you have all the requirements covered, onward travel, cash etc.

But it is always up to the IO you are talking to at that moment.

You won't have any issues. That 60 day stamp will "expire" when you leave Thailand. So, returning after only one two week stay will not be any issue.
