TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the options for long-term stays in Thailand, specifically focusing on retirement and spouse visas. Participants clarify that the DTV visa is unrelated to these categories. The Non-O visa is highlighted as a viable option that can be renewed annually, allowing for long-term residency based on age (50+) or marriage to a Thai citizen. Members share experiences about the ongoing need for extensions and provide insights into maintaining long-term visas.

Once you get the Non-O 12 month Extension of Stay you purchase a multi-entry re-entry permit

You need the O visa first and then extentions of stay every year. The O is classed as a long term visa

You can apply for an O visa in Thailand. You can extend the O visa each year indefinitely.

Retirement and Spouse Visa have nothing to do with DTV as the DTV is a separate Visa class. That is why you couldn't find anything about retirement or marriage in it.
