Is medical insurance required when applying for a DTV medical visa out of Jakarta?

I’m applying for a DTV medical visa and had a question. I’ve seen in some previous posts that no medical insurance was required or asked for, but I wasn’t sure if that only applied to Medical applicants.

Does anyone know if, when applying out of Jakarta, I’ll be required to show medical insurance that covers my entire stay (longer than 90 days), or if 90-day renewable coverage is enough? Also ChatGPT said the 50,0000$ minimum has to be stated in that document.

TLDR : Answer Summary
When applying for a DTV medical visa from Jakarta, it appears that health insurance is not a strict requirement, according to several comments. Some users mentioned that insurance is optional, while others advised it is wise to have coverage in case of emergencies in Thailand. A $50,000 coverage minimum is suggested if insurance is provided. Thus, while it may not be mandatory, having comprehensive health insurance is advisable for long-term stay.

The DTV doesn’t REQUIRE health insurance. However, not having any is suicide here.
