TLDR : Answer Summary
The conversation discusses the application process for a DTV visa in Phuket, with suggestions to consider applying personally rather than through agents, as agents may require travel outside Thailand. Several price points for courses and visa services are mentioned, including Oriental Bamboo language school's fees and the cost/hurdles of using agents.

It's so Easy to do yourself even a newbie first timer to Asia could do it...

Plus agents can't do it from within the Kingdom so you'd have to travel to a neighbouring country or Taipei or Jakarta etc...

Laos ist the cheapest place... they charge exactly the 10k and you can pay in Baht. It's "walk-in", but with appointment. Have a look at this list...

George I've only been gathering Info from within this DTV group....

And not been paying as close attention recently... But I believe it would be Lao assuming they've not Joined the E-Visa online system yet...

But depending where you are based I personally went to Taipei as like to go see new places and it's potentially slightly easier there as well as Jakarta...

Good Luck

Thanks for your reply - so if a successful online application is made - how is the visa issued? do you need to attend a consul/embassy - or can it be stamped into your passport on arrival?
