Just got my DTV in Ho Chi Minh city! Landed on the 15th May, sent in my application via Issa Compass ([members only]/) and it was approved on the 26th May. They're a great visa agent that doesn't charge too much, and they also offer a refund if your application is unsuccessful!

I applied via Thai soft power with Arun Thai Cooking school for a 12 month program which offers a variety of different programs depending on your need. The entire process was really smooth and they were responsive and answered all the questions I had.

Highly recommend!

Not sure you get your money back!

Some embassies don't accept short cooking programs.

The Thai Arun cooking school charges $45,000 bth for the papers.

Our 6-month program is THB 18,900 and 12-month program is 36,900.

Please let us know where you have seen this price of $45,000

We have turned down multiple "agents" who only wanted to purchase enrollment documents from us. We do not engage with any agents who plan to abuse this system.

Yes you chose the easiest option but used an agent 🤔

they didn’t charge much more than me doing it myself and I’m horrible at paperwork 🤷🏻‍♂️

And certainly not the safest in the long-term. 😅

Anonymous participant 546 ??? I’m thinking about it but was wondering about that short “long-term”. Lime is there possibly so of it being cx’d before 5yr term?

I doubt your visa will be canceled (new applications may eventually be suspended). You may however face more scrutiny from immigration at entry points. Without ongoing activity, that may be an issue. That's not the case for now (only rare cases) but no ones could predict the future. As a fact, immigration is already requesting ongoing activities when extending the DTV in the country.

Anonymous participant 546 for sure, devil is always in the long term detail

Any reason to use an agency if you easily qualify under the financial route?

Just jumping in here: From our experience, applicants who choose to get support from an agent do so as a risk mitigation. In our case, we work closely with Issa Compass and they deal with a large number of applications and understand how the individual embassies prefer the documents prepared.

Ultimately, their offer of a money back guarantee not only on their service fee but also on the application fee in the case of rejection (or assist with a 2nd application if they deem viable) gives the applicants who choose them a peace of mind and a sort of insurance on the application fee.

higher risk using an agent as it is easier on your own. What happens if the embassy ask for interview does the agent go for youbth the embassy No No haha 😂😂

the embassy does not refund the 10,000 bht so l find a total refund hard to believe. Also the application mist be from outside of Thailand do your saying you don't have to leave Thailand right

I'm just sharing from our experience working with various types of applicants. Some people may prefer not to be bogged down by the submission process and don't mind paying for this service. Who are we to judge their decision if they value their time more than spending it on this process?

The embassy does not refund the THB 10,000, but the company we work with — Issa Compass — does. They check the overall profile before deciding whether to accept the case. It would take you three minutes to confirm this on their website or social media — they are not a small company. We work closely with them for our applicants.

Also, the applicants are applying from the country they are in — not from within Thailand. Hope this clarifies

I understand the process thank you but you are just self promoting. As I said previous it's not hard to do. I am not judging you are l don't care what others do. It's their money of they want to waste it. But it's so easy to do on your own and enjoy a holiday at the same time for a fraction of what you charge. If agents get found out it will be the same as when agents did bank accounts for people Thai government cancels all applications. Good luck with you business get the money while you can 🤣🤣🤣

I find the idea of using an agency for these kind of things pretty hilarious though. You're paying money to simply upload documents to a different party, not saving you any time or effort.

you are answering you own question. An agent is a water of money when applying for DTV. It's a simple process you collect the required documents and upload what does an agent do except charge you money. I went to Laos stayed a week and travel around all up 20,000 bht. You are going to the states do it when your there approved no problem

my tenative plan is to stay in Thailand for June and July and then I'll be either in US or Vietnam after that. Will apply for DTV then. Can't figure out if I should use an agency. My remote work brings in $30K+/mo. I think I should be approved, but countries have been known to deny digital nomad Visas for people who are overqualified.

Omg took 10 days too 😩 bank holiday . Congrats!

Thanks again for the shoutout! Just to share — many of Thailand’s top visa agencies (like Issa Compass, Siam Legal, and Baan Thai Immigration) use our DTV-eligible cooking program because it’s straightforward, trusted, and comes with a full money-back guarantee in case of rejection.

Happy to answer any questions or help guide others through the process.
