Thanks for the helpful comments.

I eventually found the UK passport information online.

For Thailand the extra months carry over.

For travel in Eu its 10 years from date of issue.

It may seem like a stupid question......but....when does my passport finish for Travel to Thailand.

I saw something on the news a few weeks ago about expiry dates.

I'm sure it mentioned that uk passports were now only valid for 10 years on date of issue.

However I'm not sure if that was just to go to EU.

I'm aware that I need to have 6 months left when I travel, but not sure now if my passport expires July 26 or April 27.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The inquiry concerns the expiration details of a UK passport when traveling to Thailand. The user is unsure if the passport validity pertains only to travel within the EU or affects international travel as well. Comments clarify that a UK passport is valid until the date indicated, which may vary depending on travel regions: 10 years from issue for the EU, while non-EU travel follows the passport's listed expiry date, which is April 12, 2027, in this case. Additionally, there is a reminder to have at least 6 months of validity remaining at the time of travel.

If you don't have an answer, don't bother commenting.

Unless you are bored stiff and looking for an argument ;)

Sad to say but when the date is up you are out of business

If you've got the old burgundy passport then it expires 10 years from the issue date

only for Eu. Just checked UK passport office. Took some finding.

Must have 6 months left when entering Thailand though.

You also need a number of blank pages in your passport. I think it’s 10 when going to Thailand

Don’t forget you need six months after your travel date , so you could travel October 2026 , no later on that passport

The 10 years from issue rule is only applicable for EU travel. So for EU travel it expires 12th July 2026 but for travel outside of the EU it is 12th April 2027
Karl ********
12 April 2027 is your passport expiration date

ok for Thailand but July 25 for Eu

Policy changes after you already received your passport won't affect it, only your future passports. Your document is valid until the date written on the document itself, so 12 April 2027.

it counts for old passports aswell but only for EU travel
