Is it safe to apply for DTV soft power visa while in Vietnam with a tight timeline before returning to Canada?

I’m in HCMC (Vietnam) for 10 days, then I’m flying back to Canada. Is it safe to apply for DTV soft power or is that too tight? If I start application in Vietnam with e-visa, can I do the follow up and send extra documents if needed from my home country? Or application gets automatically rejected? Thanks

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is in HCMC, Vietnam for 10 days before returning to Canada and is inquiring about the safety of applying for a DTV soft power visa under a tight timeline. Comments suggest starting the application online immediately, submitting necessary documents once in Vietnam, and clarifying potential issues with additional document submissions from Canada that could lead to visa rejection. The general consensus is that it is possible to apply within the time frame if properly managed.

When they ask you for your passport pages when you're back in your home country you might have a problem, then the visa might be rejected.

Why not apply in your home country when you are back?

get the application started online NOW and save it in your profile,

then the second you hit the ground in Vietnam, upload the visa/entry stamp and hotel where you're staying and then apply, pay.

I applied in the evening on 6 Nov, and was approved 12 Nov. Requested on 8th to supply additional docs. That's technically 4 working business days if you exclude the weekend.

do you need to show a minimum balance of 500k baht on each of the statements?

HCMC takes 5 business days to approve providing you submit all that is required. If they ask for more documents to be submitted, the 5 days is reset when they receive them. 10 days should be enough.
