Hi everyone. I visited my friend here in vietnam and I’m returning to Thailand on May 5th. I stayed in Thailand for 5 months and just went out last April 29. Would i have any problem with immigration considering I always extend my tourist visa? Hope someone can help me

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is concerned about potential immigration issues upon returning to Thailand after a 5-month stay and a short trip to Vietnam. Commenters generally reassure that as long as the user has all necessary paperwork—including proof of onward travel, accommodation, and sufficient cash—there shouldn't be any immigration problems. However, they caution that each immigration officer may have different opinions and procedures, particularly regarding prolonged stays.

Me and friends (quite a big group) done a Cambodia run last month. Some had covid visa from the start of the visa, some had a mix of visa etc.. all of us got in some had the odd questions over straight in

my friend here just received her 11th Covid extension to July 23. Entered on tourist visa late Jan 2020. Pretty easy thus far.

I've done the same due to the Covid extensions. I entered Thailand on the 1st December. Going for one more but the rules are changing even with regard to when the new visa begins - ie not from the last visa date stamped in my passport as was the case last time - and the guy at immigration said that this would be my last one. But who knows?!

Try to avoid DMK for the return. There are some Pitbulls @ Immigration. With 5 month you should be fine. If there are more than 180 days of stay within 1 year you might run in trouble and being sent back to Vietnam. All up to the IO.

You'll be fine, just make sure you have the 3 proofs, onward travel, booked accommodation, and 20k baht cash
