TLDR : Answer Summary
The general understanding about visa exempt entries to Thailand indicates that there are three 30-day visa exempt stamps allowed per year, but it’s important to clarify that this is based on a calendar year (January 1 to December 31) for those using land borders. For air entries, there is essentially no official limit on the number of visa exempt entries. However, frequent entries can lead to scrutiny from immigration officials, who may start to question the number of entries.

Okay, one last time there is NO official rule about the number of visa exempt entries you can get to thailand in a specific period of time OTHER than the rule that limits 45 countries to TWO 30 day visa exempt entries by a land border in a calendar year.

No matter what some immigration officer tells you there is no rule in the books that limits time in thailand to 90 days in 180 days or 180 in a year. It is something that was rescinded almost as soon as it was implemented .

Over Age 50 get a long stay visa with reentry permits and quit fooling around with Exempt Entries... get smooth sailing each in and out

The age of your son and the amount of grandchildren you have has no bearing whatsoever on how the immigration officials will react to the number of visa exempt entries you attempt.
