Good morning you fine people, and fellow Thailand fans.
This group has been so helpful for me, so here is my experience of the DTV application process which was approved with the help of ChatGPT:
My DTV (Workcation) application timeline – Royal Thai Embassy, London
16 June – Submitted my DTV (Workcation/Remote Work) application via the official Thai e-Visa website and paid the application fee.
22 June – Received a request from the Embassy for additional supporting documents.
23 June – Uploaded the requested documents, including:
additional financial evidence,
documents clarifying my remote working arrangement,
supporting information to clarify things that may not have been obvious (with a cover note)
24 June – Application status changed to "Processing, pending approval."
24 June – Later the same day, my DTV was approved and the visa was issued.
Overall: 8 days from initial application to approval (including the request for additional documents). The Embassy asked for further information once, but after everything was uploaded the approval came very quickly.
My advice: Make sure your documents are clear and consistent. If there are any differences in names, company names or employment documents, include a brief cover letter explaining them—it may save delays.
Also, each request for document upload only allows one PDF, so for bank statements make sure all three months are merged on one document. Same goes for anything else 🙂
Good luck all 🤞
