Hi all... I got my initial non O 3 month visa for retirement with little hassle. Is it harder to get the 12 month extension afterwards. I fufill the financial requirements but have read of people having complications such as home visits etc. I'm applying in Chiang Mai.in case it varies region to region. ๐๐ผ

TLDR : Answer Summary
The process of obtaining a 12-month extension for a Non-O retirement visa in Thailand, especially in Chiang Mai, is generally considered easier than obtaining the initial visa. Previous applicants noted that if you apply at the same immigration office where you received your initial Non-O visa, the extension process is straightforward, with minimal hassle. The specific documentation required may vary, especially based on the basis of your Non-O visa (e.g., retirement or marriage), with retirement visas focusing more on residence documentation. However, applicants should be aware that some individuals have reported complications like home visits, particularly with marriage-based Non-O visas.
NON-O RETIREMENT VISA RESOURCES / SERVICES

Okay, just wanted to double check as you can only get your extension from the office you got the original visa from, didn't want you to run into any issues.

Rule of thumb: if you hang out in monkey farm enclaves of foreigners, expect different rules. If you blend in and fade into the bush and integrate and incorporate, expect to be ignored
, I once was lost, and found myself. So as for your namesake, why don't you find yourself? Enjoy the enthusiasmine blast of a recently arrived tourist

I once met a woman in Peru whose name was Lost. True story. Or was it Juanita? Maybe Maria? Anyway, she was a blast. She had a brother who sold newspapers on the beach. Outrageous prices. and all written in Spanish. I don't speak Spanish, who does? But he gave me a friends and family discount so it wasn't all bad. How are we standing with that 20,000 baht Rene?
A monkey farm! That sounds amazing! Location please. Oh, Can you also please tell me where the bush is? I want to be ignored, but not by Nok who works at the Amazon cafe. She kind of does now. Any advice? Can you lend me 20,000 Baht?

Much easier for the 12 month extension than getting the non O in Thailand . The immigration office will have a handout. Very easy if youโve just done the non O at the same office
It was very straightforward to get non O for 3 months. They only asked for bank statements and tm30. Didn't ask for a lease agreement or anything else...do they for the 12 month extension?
depends on the office son. Ask them for a handout it will list out everything

What is your non-o based on? Marriage may have hone visits and lots of documentation requirements, but retirement has mostly residence document requirements.
Requirement varies slightly between immigrations. Best to get handed over the requirements in CM before you apply. Reports of only randomly home visits for the retirement extension.
showing your 800k seasoned for 2 months in Thai bank, long term lease agreement. Go to immigration and get their document checklist. They can vary slightly. No need for an agent.
how long is long term ? , when I finally get there I want to rent for 3 months so I can get my years extension, so I have enough time for my money to be in the bank , then I can look around to find out where I want to rent long term ?, is this ok ?
